Dandruff is an infectious
condition, it occurs due to bacterial and fungal infection. It leads to
formation of scales on the scalp hence causing frequent itching and the worst part is, you have to stay clear of dark colored dress as
dandruff is embarrassingly noticeable on dark shades. It is better to treat dandruff
or flaky scalp with natural home remedies than harsh chemical based products.
7 Home remedies to treat dandruff:
1.
Apple Juice:
Massaging your
scalp with apple juice helps in fading away dandruff.
2.
Fenugreek (methi) seeds:
Soak a fistful
of fenugreek seeds in water overnight. Next morning, filter the seeds with
sieve and grind them to a paste. Apply the paste on your scalp for half an hour
and rinse it off. This hair mask fights against dandruff.
3.
Beetroot juice, Vinegar and Ginger juice:
Mix beetroot
juice, vinegar and ginger juice in a bowl. Apply the solution on your scalp
with the help of cotton balls for half and hour and wash it away.
4.
Lemon juice, sugar and water:
Squeeze a lemon
in a bowl add 3 tablespoons of sugar and 2 tablespoons of water in it. Apply
the solution properly in hair roots using cotton ball for an hour and rinse it
off.
5.
Coconut oil and camphor (kapur):
Add camphor in
coconut oil and massage your hair roots properly with it. Leave it for 1 hour
and wash it away using a mild shampoo.
6.
Onion juice and lemon juice:
Apply the
mixture of onion juice and lemon juice in hair roots properly using a cotton
pad.
7.
Olive or sesame oil:
Massage your
scalp properly using your fingertips with Luke warm olive oil or sesame oil
before bedtime.
Some valuable suggestions:
- Brush your hair daily as this promotes blood circulation inside the scalp (be gentle while brushing).
- Don’t share towels, combs or hair brushes as dandruff is infectious.
- Wash your hair regularly (thrice a week) to get rid of excess oil and keep your scalp clean.
