Do you want to have soft, supple
and youthful hands?
Pamper your hands with tender loving
care and follow these simple points:
1. Moisturize:
Keep your moisturizer somewhere
close -within easy access, so that you can apply it on your hands time and
again everyday especially during winters. As every time you wash your hands
they strip off some moisture, so in order to compensate the moisture loss you need
to smear on the moisturizer at regular intervals. Apply the moisturizer on your
cuticles as well to avoid cracking and drying.
2. Apply
Sunscreen:
As far as sun protection is concerned,
we concentrate on our face and neck and forget about the hands. As our hands
are exposed to sun even they need protection from harmful UV rays. So, don’t forget to apply sunscreen with SPF
15-30 on your hands before leaving home.
3. Gentle
wash:
Use a mild and anti-bacterial
soap/hand wash to prevent dryness (as dryness can cause the hands to look
older).
4. Protection
during domestic chores:
Always wear gloves while washing
the dishes or whenever your hands are exposed to harsh detergents and hot
water.
Chocolates are quite irresistible
and once we begin to eat, it becomes difficult to control the sweet
temptations.
Do you know the delicious bar can even "Turn back the clock"!!!
Chocolate (especially dark
chocolate) is rich in antioxidants and contains anti-aging properties as well. It
increases the production of collagen which helps in skin tightening
and renewal, thereby delaying the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
It imparts a healthy glow to your
skin keeping it young and glowing.
Note:
Stick on to unsweetened and high-quality chocolate (with at least 70 percent
cocoa) not the sugary milk bars.
Ice aids in the reduction of
redness, swelling and inflammation of pimples in a short span. Just wrap the
ice cube in a cotton handkerchief and hold it on the affected area for few
seconds then wait for few seconds and again do the same (repeat the process for
5 minutes). This will help in improving the blood circulation, removing the
excess oil, tightening the skin pores and thereby quickly healing the affected
area.
2. Toothpaste:
The white toothpaste that you use
to clean your teeth can be used to cure pimples as well. This remedy is really
effective when used after ice remedy. Just apply the toothpaste on the affected
area before going to bed and rinse your face the following morning. Follow this
remedy religiously for few weeks; you will definitely witness a significant
improvement in your skin.
Note: Don’t use gel based
toothpaste. Go for the regular white toothpaste.
3. Lemon:
Lemon juice is a miracle cure for
pimples as it helps pimples to dry up faster. Take a tablespoon of fresh lemon
juice mix a tablespoon of honey in it. Apply the concoction on the affected
area for 10-15 minutes (using a cotton ball) and rinse it off with lukewarm
water.
4. Garlic:
Another quick remedy to get rid
of pimples is a garlic clove. Cut a garlic clove into two and rub it on the
affected area. Leave it for 5 minutes and rinse it off with lukewarm water.
Note: For better results eat a
raw garlic clove daily as it helps in blood purification.
5. Tea
Tree Oil:
The anti-bacterial properties of
tea tree oil make it an excellent cure for acne and pimples. It helps in
fighting bacteria and soothes the skin by reducing redness and inflammation of
pimples. Take a few drops of tea tree oil and mix a tablespoon of Aloe Vera gel
in it and dab the mixture on the affected area using a cotton ball. Leave it
for 15-20 minutes and then rinse it off.

Turn down hot water bath (though
irresistible) and avoid the use of soaps during winters. As, harsh soaps and hot water
tend to strip your skin of its natural oils making it rough and dry.
Always use lukewarm water.
As far as possible, go for
home made body packs and choose a moisturizing soap/body wash enriched with emollients like Cocoa butter, Shea butter, Aloevera, Milk cream etc.
Always
nourish your body with a daily moisturizer to restore its moisture, after the
shower.

Exfoliation is one of the pivotal elements of a woman's beauty regime as it aids in
removing dead skin cells, dirt and impurities from the skin's top layer
giving you soft, supple and radiant skin but we tend to take the exfoliation part so easy and snappy, that we can hardly think of any possible exfoliating mistake. However
there are a number of ways you might be harming your skin while exfoliating
instead of imparting any help to it.
So
beauties don’t devastate your skin any more by making any of the mistakes
listed below:
Well you don’t have to make the
major changes but there are certain points you should be aware of when
you are
exfoliating your skin.
1. Dry Exfoliation (without water):
When the very thought of dry
scrubbing is so painful just imagine the damage it can cause to your skin, as
dry scrubbing creates a lot of friction on your face thereby harming the sensitive
skin. Always splash some water on your face before you start exfoliating as it
helps in lubricating the skin and makes the scrubbing easier.
2. Using the wrong product:
For choosing the right product
for exfoliating your skin, the golden rule is to go for a mild scrub (one with
rounded micro beads is gentle) and avoid the one with scratchy or pointed beads
or particles.
3. Exfoliating dirty/unclean skin:
Use a mild cleanser to cleanse
your face before scrubbing and make sure that your skin is free from any sort
of dirt, grime and makeup before you start exfoliating. As dirt or grime on the
skin hinders the job of the scrub, can even clog the skin pores instead of
cleaning them.
4. Too much Exfoliation:
Most of the women are tempted to
use the scrub quite often with an idea “The more the better and cleaner” but
this is not true. Limit the use of scrub once or twice a week (once a week is
just perfect).
5. Using wrong technique (for exfoliation):
Avoid vigorous rubbing and strong
strokes, as your facial skin is delicate. Gently wipe out dead skin cells using
a mild scrub (in a circular motion) for not more than 15-20 second.
6. Exfoliating distressed skin :
When your skin is irritated or is
in a bad condition defer the use of scrub until your skin recovers its natural
health. Scrubbing your skin in its vulnerable state can even worsen the skin
problems.
7. Skipping moisturizer:
Pamper your skin with a mild
moisturizer after exfoliating your skin. As scrubbing may leave your skin dry
hence it is really important to slather on the moisturizer immediately after
exfoliating to take care of freshly cleansed pores.
