Monsoon Skincare:

Homemade Face-packs for Monsoon:

Rains are here, and so are the skin troubles. This humid season makes your skin look dull (because of sweat and oil deposits). So, You really need to adjust your skin care regime as our skin readily reacts to atmospheric humidity and dampness. Allow your skin to breath  by washing impurities and oil away from your skin, using a mild and non-soapy cleanser (Avoid perfumed and Anti-fungal soaps as they are harsh on your skin and sheds your skin of natural oils). Never rub your face while drying your facial skin as it can cause hyper-pigmentation.


Some Natural face-packs to maintain healthy glowing skin during Monsoon:


1. Papaya Mask:  


Fruits hydrate and rejuvenate the skin and the best part about fruit Masks is- Unlike cosmetic products they are natural and serve as great skin food. Papaya is rich in antioxidants. Applying mashed papaya, exfoliates the skin in a natural and gentle way.

2. Fuller's Earth (Multani Mitti) Pack: 


Fuller's Earth face-pack does wonders in monsoon as it absorbs excess oil from the skin. You just need to add rose water in it and apply the paste on your face and rinse it off when it dries.

3. Oatmeal Pack:


Well, We all know that this fiber rich food helps in kicking cholesterol out of our body. But, Did you know- This super food  gives excellent results when applied on skin, as it sweeps away dead skin, redness and irritation leaving your skin soft and rejuvenated.

  • Oatmeal (3 teaspoons) 
  • Honey (1 teaspoon)
  • Curd (1 tablespoon)
Mix all the ingredients well. Then add a little rose water in it. Apply the concoction on your face and wash it off after half an hour.

4.  Green Tea Face-pack: 

Green Tea is highly rich in antioxidants and helps in reducing inflammation, redness and protecting skin from UV radiation exposure. So,  Harness these benefits of green tea for your skin by trying out this face pack.

  • Green Tea (2 tablespoons)
  • Yogurt (1 tablespoon)
  • Essential Oil (few drops)- Optional

Grind the green tea leaves into fine powder and mix all the above ingredients well. Apply the paste on your face and neck by gently massaging for a minute. Rinse it off with luke warm water. This Face-pack soothes your skin from itchiness and irritation.

5. Sandalwood Face-pack:

Sandalwood works excellent in  healing  skin problems like acne, blackheads and any other skin eruptions.

  • Crushed Sandalwood (1 tablespoon).
  • Turmeric Powder ( 1/2 tablespoon)
  • Rose Water (1/4 th cup)
Mix all the ingredients to form a paste. Apply the mixture on your face and let it dry. Later, rinse it off with water. This face-pack instantly radiates your skin and  keeps it moist. Try this face-pack twice a week.

Tip of the week: How to whiten yellow teeth naturally:

You can get a sparkling white smile with the help of a natural ingredient, easily available in your kitchen. Well, Lemon is one of the basic ingredients used in our kitchen in almost every season. But, Did you know that the magical properties present in lemon (a natural bleaching agent) can turn your yellow teeth into sparking white. You can use lemon in various ways:

  • Mix lemon juice with water (1/4th cup) and Gargle with the solution.

  • Scrub your teeth with lemon peel.

  • Mix a few drops of lemon juice and some salt apply the concoction on the stained teeth and rub over your teeth and gums. Leave it for few minutes and thoroughly rinse your mouth with water.

Repeat the remedy twice daily for 2 weeks to get rid of ugly yellow tinge from your teeth.
